All kids deserve a toy at Christmas. You can help.
"Clark's Christmas Kids" 2011 is over, but it's not too late to give! Every year Clark Howard and News/Talk WSB join with the Georgia Department of Family and Children's Services to provide gifts for foster children across Georgia. Clark's Christmas Kids Campaign collects about half of all the gifts DFCS gives to children in foster care. Whether you give in person or donate online, your generous gifts help show a child that someone cares.
Our sincerest thanks to everyone who came out to area Wal-Marts to donate toys and gifts at Clark's 21st Annual Christmas Kids drive. Every kid deserves a gift at Christmas, and your generous donations helped show foster children across Georgia that someone cares!
Didn't make it by? You can still help a child in your area this holiday. Donate online through New Year's Day.

Everything was, in her words, "hunky dory" when LeChanda W., along with her husband and four kids, moved to Atlanta in the fall of 2004. He had a good-paying job as a supervisor at a warehouse, and LeChanda, who worked at a doctor’s office, entered a technical school training program to become a medical assistant.
Over the next few years, as they tried to balance taking care of their family with moving ahead, the marriage soured. Soon, LeChanda found herself divorced and battling an eviction.
Lightning struck again months later when she lost her place in her school's medical assistant training program. And again, when she was laid off from her office job.
Today, she maintains a small apartment in Gwinnett County and scrapes by with money from her ex and other family members. But like many of Georgia’s unemployed, her job search has still yielded no results.
“It’s been a really hard time. This is the longest I’ve ever been without a job and The Salvation Army has really helped out,” LeChandra says. LeChandra’s four children were among the 11,000 local youth who received gifts of new toys and clothing for Christmas through The Salvation Army Angel Tree program in 2009. “The kids were so happy with the toys, and I got a stroller and a car seat for baby as well.”
The Salvation Army Angel Tree program helps to provide new toys and winter clothing items to youth from impoverished households. This program continues to be a success because of people like you. Thank you for your continued support this holiday season and throughout the year.
