For $10.50 we got to see an ancient reminder of history, beautifully lit for the event, and wonderful music ! Mike O. |

 Submitted by: Sam B. Destination: Alaska Best deal found: I used skymiles for 4 free tickets from Atlanta to Anchorage ($1,200 tix) and then gave up 2 seats on the way back for two $400 vouchers. The delay for the other flight was a mere 30 minutes and our bags were waiting on us when we arrived! We also backpacked for free in Denali and talked to locals for fishing advice versus taking the $250 per day/per person guides. |
 Submitted by: Troy P. Destination: Leavenworth, WA Best deal found: The Bavarian Lodge. 4+ star accommodations at very reasonable prices. Free DVD rentals and a "real" breakfast buffet were included in the price of the room. Located directly across the street from the German "village". |
 Submitted by: Marta M. Destination: St. George's Island, Florida Best deal found: Great deal on camping at the State Park. Full hook up for 21.00 a day. Although we had to leave two days early because a water spout formed from this storm and knocked out four power poles in the gulf and power to the entire Island for days. |
 Submitted by: Marilyn R. Destination: Viet Nam Best deal found: This photo is of the Tortoise Tower on a tiny island in the middle of Hoam Kiem Lake in Hanoi. The best travel deal was using a Vietnamese Company to make our travel arrangements. 7 flights, all hotels, all breakfasts, no other tour members, access to a driver and admission fees including a boat trip overnight on Halong Bay and five days in Cambodia for $2400 a person. Five star hotels. 5 times cheaper than using an American co. No mess ups. It was cheaper than staying home. 31 days total trip. We only gave a $500 per person deposit and paid the rest of the money when we received all our vouchers at the hotel in Hanoi. Worst case scenario would have been to be out $500. Go now before the world finds out what a beautiful place this is. |

We spent the night at La Musardière, the little hotel there in the village. It was not elegant, but it was not expensive and it allowed us to be there after all of the day-trippers left. We had the gardens all to ourselves. What a treat to be able to stand on the Japanese bridge all alone and look at the famous water lilies! |

 Submitted by: Nathan M. Destination: Tulum, Mexico Best deal found: In the village of Akumal we found beautiful beaches, excellent reef snorkeling, and excellent freshwater lagoon snorkeling. The accommodations were right on the beach: $150 per night for a large 1 BR villa. A handful of wonderful quaint restaurants, including Lunita's which had chef-prepared fresh seafood dinners right on the beach for less than $20. Don't expect a lot of air conditioning. |

The White Mountains area is the only part of the trail that is above the tree line. |
